the burping process
Conventional Ways of burping.....
...says that out of 3 methods, the two are:
1) having your 4 fingers on one cheek, while you thumb on the other cheek, while the other hand patting or gently rubbing the back to get the bubble of gas out of baby's little tummy. just like what is shown below.

2) or.....if that doesn't work, and the little one is still uncomfortable in the tummy, hold her up against your chest and gently pat her back to get the darn air bubble out to relieve the uncomfortable feeling......for the parents it probably would be more then just the baby's tummy...they would have to go tru the continuous cries of the poor child. and when the glorious burp do come out......every one is praising our Father in Heaven... in fact....we thank God more for a burp then anything else in the world!!!!

Naomi's way......
is not the conventional way....but rather a more comfortable modified way of the conventional way of burping...

the conventional way is way way way tooooo uncomfortable....let alone suffering the tummy ache!!! little t-rex wants us to spread our palm flat, so that she can rest her little head sideways, while she sleeps and wait for the burp to come out!!!!
what a genius!!! so small yet innovative...anything to get comfy!

phases
little t-rex smiles are like beautiful butterflies fluttering around but disappears fast!!!
however, one day while doing nothing but just staring at her, i managed to capture the different phases of naomi's facial expressions leading to a bawl (or rather a loud ROAR!!)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
how the cycle begins...........
phase 1
this is how little naomi looks before she awakes.....you think she is sleeping blissfully sound and will need another couple of hours of snoooooze! but you can think all you want.

how the cycle begins...........
phase 1
phase 2
walah! she's awake....and mind you....this is after 2 microseconds of phase 1!!! the big yawn....shows she is still sleepy and she would just dose off after this yawn...but looks can be deceiving.
phase 3
phase 4
wait a minute...whose sitting in front of me and what's that contraption!!! T-rex realizes i am there with a camera in front of me....she stops to wonder.
phase 5
No....she decides she doesn't like this protruding object in front her....and she doesn't quite like the big world, i reckon..... the facial contortion her is still proportionate to the little roar.....hmmm about 50-100 dB.
phase 6
MoMMMMMYYYYYYY am HUNGRYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!
the comfort phase
hmmmmm! yummy and she is really satisfied.......back to phase 1!
this is how t-rex looks after being satiated.

mother-hood to a baby dino (naomi)
the blog, was actually supposed to be about geology and and prehistoric stories about dinosaurs, rocks and sediments.......but as what EVERY new parent will start.... they'll start a blog about their newborns..... i gather, they will do this for a year or two, before they give up, until they get the second child! so this is again to another new beginning..... a very tiring but rewarding one, but nevertheless challenging and patience trying. the first day of Naomi, was WOW.....thank god labour pains don't last in geologic time scale!!! God is gracious. Nov3rd 2009, Naomi Mary Thomas was born. she immediately latched and i was the happiest mother!!!! she is adorable and very cute.....only to know that in couple of weeks time, she had turned into t-rex!!!! first week she latched and didn't let go. but that was good, because milk was stimulated and breast feeding was not as hard as some say....there was enough milk for baby.

changing her clothes seemed impossible..cos she was so small we thought we were going to break her limbs. little did we know later...that she LOVES bathing...... with very minimal noise from the parents, grandparents or the person bathing her......
dad, mum and new earthling....naomi
at 1 week....... naomi was latching and growing and also turning yellow!!!! i checked as soon as she was born, she was not green and thank God she didn't have tentacles!!!!! but now....she was turning yellow. thank god the jaundice was just mild. no need for photo therapy. naomi was latching.....but non stop!!!! soreness started...and i began to understand the many woes of a mother in breast-feeding....by the grace of god, my wonderful hubs and bestest friend was there ALL the time, every minute trying to help me elevate the pain. He is such a darling!!!
naomi's 1st bath at home!!!!
changing her clothes seemed impossible..cos she was so small we thought we were going to break her limbs. little did we know later...that she LOVES bathing...... with very minimal noise from the parents, grandparents or the person bathing her......
infact, she loves silence at ALL times......so NO baby talk, or cooing....this t-rex dislikes all these immensely!!!!
at 2nd week, naomi was latching for long hours and also crying!!! ALOT!!! i know we will never know why!!! drinking was about at least 2 hours!!!!! talking about drinking machine!
at 3rd week.....she was drinking and also crying alot....but now....she also wants to be burped!!!!!!!!!! the blessed burp is more precious then diamonds i tell you!!! the sound of it is sweeter than U2's or any christmas carol!
burp!!! we need enormous amount of patience to get it out....if not we'll suffer!!! the BURP!!! it's scary!
guess who's feet are these?
i have more to write...but am just so sleepy and tired..... so will continue when..when...i don't know..maybe when i get our 2nd dino!
